WETA (Water Emergency Transport Authority) has released its most recent passenger figures – more people are riding the boats on San Francisco Bay this year than last.
The March 2013 passenger total was 116,416 – compared to 93,363 in March 2012.
That’s a 21% increase year-to-year for the month of March, even if you discount the 3,430 passengers on the South San Francisco run – which wasn’t in service last year.
Across the entire fiscal year ridership is up 8% – not counting the South San Francisco run.
It’s a great way to spend money raised from bridge tolls.
